Women's Swimming & Diving to Host Campbell, Richmond
RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State women’s swimming and diving team will host both Campbell and Richmond this Saturday, Oct. 31, at Casey Natatorium on campus. Action is slated to begin at 11 a.m.

The Wolfpack women stand at 1-1 (1-1 ACC) after topping Duke and falling to Maryland last weekend in its season opener in College Park, Md. The team put up four all-time top-10 times - including three in individual action from Marifrances Henley, Jen Kopenitz and Morgan Robertson – while Henley won the 200 freestyle in her collegiate debut.

Henley used a 1:50.78 to take the 200 freestyle, tying the seventh-fastest time in school history. Jen Kopenitz swam 57.11 in the leadoff leg of the 400-medley relay to tie the fourth-quickest 100 backstroke time in school history, while Morgan Robertson’s 57.55 places her seventh all-time. Ashley Richter, Allison Hendren, Patrice Dason and Henley also posted the third-fastest 400-freestyle relay in Wolfpack history with a 3:25.57.

Campbell carries a 3-5 record after competing against East Carolina, Marshall and Towson this past weekend. Kelly Mullican, Emily Michael, Casey Umberger and Ashlyn Stumpf took fifth in the 200-medley relay during the quad meet with a 1:53.49 time.

Richmond owns a 1-1 record after topping La Salle and falling to Villanova in its season-opening meet last weekend. The Spiders’ Lauren Hines was named A-10 Swimming Rookie of the Week after winning the 100 and 200 backstrokes last weekend. Hines also finished second in the 50 freestyle and swam on the second-place 400-freestyle relay.

Both the NC State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will return to the pool at Davidson on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 12 noon.
