Swimming & Diving Heads to Davidson
RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will resume competition this Saturday, Nov. 7, at Davidson. Action is slated to begin at 12 noon at Cannon Natatorium in Davidson, N.C.
The Wolfpack men (2-0, 2-0 ACC) return from a one week hiatus after toppling both Duke and Maryland in its season opener on Oct. 24. Hudson Rains qualified for the NCAA diving zones and Matt Voell won the 100 butterfly in his collegiate debut, while the Pack took first place in 10 of 16 events.
The Wolfpack women (3-1, 1-1 ACC) swept both Campbell and Richmond this past weekend at Casey Natatorium. NC State swimmers and divers placed first in 11 of 16 events at the tri-meet, culminating in 13 top-3 times/scores for the year. Thus far this season the Pack has put up four all-time top-10 times - including three in individual action from Marifrances Henley, Jen Kopenitz and Morgan Robertson.
Both the Davidson men and women stand at 0-4 on the year, having fallen to Clemson, East Carolina, Emory and William & Mary. The Wildcat women however did defeat College of Charleston in a Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association contest.
