    Henry, Shepherd Win Events for Wolfpack Women's Track

    Senior Lawanda Henry won the weight throw and junior Karimah Shepherd won the long jump on the first day of competition at the UNC Invitational, Competition concludes on Saturday at UNC's Eddie Smith Field House.

    Demiracle Washington is in her second season as a volunteer coach with the Wolfpack.

    Washington won the long jump title at the 2008 ACC Indoor Championships and was a national qualifier. She is also the school record holder in the event.

    While working with NC State's jumpers as a volunteer assistant, she has continued to compete in post-collegiate events.
