Wolfpack Throwers Shine in 2 Meets

RALEIGH, N.C. - Redshirt freshman Jule Rich won the men's discus throw at the UCF Invitational collegiate track and field meet on Saturday in Orlando, while senior teammate Brittany Hampton won the women's discus at the VertKlasse Meeting track meet in High Point, N.C. Wolfpack redshirt freshman Tremanisha Taylor was third in the women's discus event at the Orlando meet, exceeding teammate Hampton's mark by about five feet. Hampton's mark of 165-feet, 9-inches easily outdistanced her competition in High Point, with sophomore teammate Kortney Pearce in third place. Taylor's mark of 170-feet, 6-inches was behind unattached participant Allison Randall and Baylor junior Skylar White in Orlando. While Williams took the win in the men's discus with his throw of 170-feet, 2-inches, sophomore Nathaniel Williams was second and junior Grant Pearce was fifth to give the Wolfpack three of the top five performers in the event. Senior Lawanda Henry was fifth in the shot put. At the VertKlasse Meeting, senior Taylor Graham was second in the women's 100-meter hurdles in the performance division.
