M. Track & Field Heads to Three Meets
The NC State men's track and field team will send split squads to three different meets this weekend as the outdoor season continues. Three men, John Crews, Tibor Vegh and Wesley Smith will travel to the Stanford Invitational, while a host of others will compete at the Duke Invitational and NC A&T Aggie Relays.
Crews and Vegh will run in the 10,000m on Saturday and Smith will compete on April 4-5 in Palo Alto, Calif. Vegh has already achieved a NCAA regional qualifying mark in the 5,000m and will join Crews in attempting to reach that mark in the 10,000m. Smith will compete in the 5K.
Kevin Hutton, who already has a NCAA regional mark in the 400m hurdles, will lead the track athletes at the Duke Invitational.
Jason Jones, a NCAA regional qualifier in the shot put, will lead a trio of throwers, including Adam Gray and Kent Dickens, who will compete at the Duke Invitational.
At the Aggie Relays, NCAA regional qualifier Dexter Adams will look to continue his success in the long jump after winning the title at the Raleigh Relays with an outdoor career-best last weekend.
