Track & Field Set for Tiger Track Classic

RALEIGH, N.C. - With two weeks remaining before the 2014 ACC Outdoor Championships, the NC State track & field team will travel to Auburn, Ala. for the Tiger Track Classic this Friday and Saturday, April 4-5 at the Hutsell-Rosen Track.
The Wolfpack is coming off hosting its annual Raleigh Relays, in which two new outdoor school records were set along with a combined five first-place finishes. Andrew Colley and Alexis Perry were each named ACC Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Performer of the Week, respectively, for their outstanding efforts at the Relays.
Perry set a new school record in the outdoor long jump on Friday, while registering a personal best in the 100m hurdles on Saturday in collecting a pair of first place finishes. Colley notched a personal best in the 1,500m run on Friday night to claim the top spot in the event, while Tremanisha Taylor and Jonathan Addison each finished first in their respective events, the women’s discus and men’s long jump. Moreover, Taylor’s throw of 179’.00” in the discus set a new NC State school record.
Following last weekend's Raleigh Relays, Graham Crawford (men’s 5,000m), Adrian Ross (men’s 3,000m steeplechase), Samantha Norman (women’s 3,000m steeplechase), Perry (women’s long jump), Colley (men’s 1,500m), Addison (men’s long jump) and Taylor (women’s discus) are all currently ranked in first place in the ACC in their respective event.
