Five Named to ACC All-Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Five members of the NC State track and field team were named to the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor All-Academic Team, as announced the ACC office on Friday.
Four of the Wolfpack's five nominees are repeat ACC All-Academic performers - Andrew Colley, Jule Rich, Joanna Thompson and Alexis Perry - while Jonathan Addison earned his first ACC All-Academic honor.
Rich, a graduate student in liberal studies, was named to the ACC Indoor All-Academic Team for the third consecutive year. He, along with Addison, posted a team-high four first-place finishes for the men's track and field team during the 2014 indoor season.
Thompson, a senior majoring in zoology, earned her third consecutive indoor award after garnering ACC Indoor All-Academic honors in 2012 and 2013. Colley, a senior and 2011 ACC Indoor All-Academic honoree, garnered the second indoor nomination of his career to accompany his two ACC Outdoor All-Academic Team (2011 & 2013) awards.
Perry, a 2013 Indoor ACC Indoor All-Academic Team honoree as a freshman, earned a pair of All-ACC awards in the women's long jump and the women's 60m hurdles at the 2014 ACC Indoor Championships in Clemson, S.C. on Feb. 27 - March 1, while Addison, a sophomore and first time ACC Indoor All-Academic team nominee, also garnered All-ACC honors in the men's long jump at the ACC Indoor Championships.
To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during his academic career.
The Wolfpack track & field team will compete in the Joe Hilton Invitational on Saturday, April 12th in Chapel Hill, N.C. before taking part in the ACC Outdoor Championships, set for April 17-19 in Chapel Hill.
