Henry, Blackmon Set New School Records
DURHAM, N.C. - Lawanda Henry broke her own school record in the hammer throw by more than 13 feet and Angelina Blackmon shaved three-tenths of a second off of her school record mark in the 800m at the Duke Twilight meet. The meet took place in Durham, N.C. with the men's and women's squads from the Wolfpack in attendance.
Henry hit a distance of 188'03" in the hammer throw, earning a NCAA regional qualifying mark in the event to break her own school record and rank fifth in the ACC this season. Henry also won the event.
Blackmon won the 800m with a school record 2:07.26, topping her previous-best in the event set earlier this season.
In more women's results, Brandalyn Furr was second in the 100m hurdles, Taylor Graham was sixth in the event and Colleen Wetherbee was fifth in the 1,500m.
On the men's side, Gregory Dame was second in the 800m to lead the team at the Duke Twighlight meet. James Robinson was sixth in the 400m hurdles and Timothy Majors eighth in the 110m hurdles.
Andrew North was ninth in the 1,500m and Frank Simmons was 10th in the 400m.
