Wolfpack Track & Field to Compete in Duke Twilight Meet
May 4, 2012
RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's and women's track teams will send select athletes to the Duke Twilight Meet on Sunday at Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham, N.C. Field events will begin at 2 p.m., while running events will begin at 5 p.m. in the meet, which will have a record number of participants and several Olympic hopefuls in the field.
All-ACC redshirt freshman Tremanisha Taylor, coming off her record-breaking performance in the discus last weekend at The Penn Relays, will also compete in both the shot put and the discus. School-record holder Lawanda Henry will compete in the shot put.
Sunday's meet is the next-to-last weekend of competition for the Wolfpack prior to the NCAA Regional preliminaries, which will be held May 24-26 in Jacksonville, Fla. Next weekend, NC State will host the Wolfpack Final Qualifier at Derr Track.
All who are competing in the final two meets are looking for times and marks that will qualify them for the NCAA Regionals. Among those close to NCAA qualifying times who will compete this weekend are senior Danielle Adams in the high jump, junior Greg Dame in the 1,500 meters and Halsey Merritt in the 10,000 meters.
More information and a tentative schedule about the one-day Wolfpack Last Chance Qualifier are available here.
