    Lucas Earns All-America Honors in 5,000 Meters

    Raleigh, N.C. - Julia Lucas of the NC State track and field team earned her third career All-America honor Friday night in the 5,000 meters at the 2007 Outdoor NCAA Championships in Sacramento, Calif. Lucas placed fourth overall with a time of 15:52.08. In the process, Lucas earned All-America honors for both the indoor and outdoor season this year in the 5,000 meters, and was an All-American for the second straight year during the outdoor season.

    Also in action for the Pack on Friday was Wesley Smith placing 17th in the 5,000 meters with his time of 14:27.20.

    Mitchell Pope will be the final Wolfpack athlete to compete at the NCAA Championships, as he will throw in the finals of the shot put tomorrow.
