GREENSBORO, N.C. – NC State junior Kris Kornegay-Gober was named the first Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Male Performer of the Week of the 2012-13 season for his record-breaking performance last weekend, as announced Tuesday by the league office.
The Washington, D.C., native and 2012 All-ACC performer re-wrote the record books at the JDL Fast Track Kick-Off in Winston-Salem, N.C., Dec. 1, by leaping 7’ 4.25” to win the high jump. The Washington, D.C., native broke the previous school record of 7’ 3.75” in the event, which he set at last year’s ACC Indoor Championships – a record that had been the second-longest standing record in the ACC Championship meet’s record book.
