Cross Country Posts Pair of Top Ten Finishes In Griak Invitational

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - The NC State men's and women's cross country teams posted a pair of top-ten finishes at the Roy Griak Invitational on a rainy Saturday afternoon at the Les Bolstad Golf Course.The No. 21 Wolfpack men posted a seventh place result in the Merrill Fischbein Men's Gold 8K Race., while the No. 24 State women finished in eighth place in the Jack Johnson Women's Gold 6K Race.
Senior Andrew Colley paced the men's team with an impressive fourth place showing in his first race of 2013. Colley finished with an overall time of 24:29.7, averaging a pace of 4:56 per mile.
Junior Joanna Thompson led the women's team with a time of 21:10.3, good enough for 10th place overall.
On the men's side, redshirt freshman Sam Parsons (25:03.1) finished in 34th place, while redshirt sophomore Graham Crawford (25:15.7) and freshman Jacob Thompson (25:16.) finished in 49th and 50th, respectively.
On the women's side, sophomore Kaitlyn Kramer (21:53.3) ended up in 37th place in her first race of the year, while redshirt senior Samantha Norman (22:15.5), redshirt freshman Megan Moye (22:16.9) and freshman Erika Kemp came in at 61st, 63rd and 66th place on the day.
The next event for the Wolfpack will be the Wisconsin Invitational in Madison, Wisc. on October 19th.
