Hoer and Hill Earn ACC Cross Country Performer of the Week Honors

Hoer, a freshman from Asheville, N.C., pulled away from a talented field in the final meters and won the Roy Griak Invitational with the third-fastest winning time in the 25-year history of the event. In winning her second-straight race, Hoer ran the 6k course in 20:38.4 and won by 2.4 seconds over a field that included six ranked teams, the NCAA 10k national champion, and the national record-holder in the steeplechase.
In his first official race of the season, Hill, a 2009 All-American, led NC State to a second-place finish at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn., by finishing fourth overall, the highest finish by an ACC runner. The Hickory, N.C., native completed the 8k course in a time of 24:16.9.
