RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Minneapolis, Minn. this weekend for the 28th annual Roy Griak Invitational, set to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday morning at the Les Bolstad Golf Course.

The No. 24-ranked Wolfpack men will compete against 21 other teams, including No. 4 Brigham Young, while the No. 21-ranked Pack women will square off versus 25 teams, including No. 5 Arizona, No. 12 Michigan State, No. 19 Minnesota, No. 20 Vanderbilt, No. 26 Iowa State and No. 29 Butler. All-in-all, the field will include eight teams that competed in the 2012 NCAA Championship.

"This weekend begins the process of accumulating criteria points that could lend itself to getting into the NCAA Championship," NC State men's head coach Rollie Geiger said. "So going head-to-head with a number of teams that will probably end up in the NCAA Championship, and finishing in front of those teams, is important."

NC State is coming off a strong showing in the Wolfpack Invitational last Friday, claiming seven of the top eleven spots on the men's side and three of the top eight on the women's side. The Wolfpack men finished with 20 points en route to victory, while the State women totaled 41 points, good for a second-place finish behind No. 4 Duke.

Graham Crawford led the Wolfpack men with a fourth place finish, while Sam Roberson and Adrian Ross finished right behind in fifth and sixth, respectively. Jacob Thompson, running unattached, finished in second place. On the women's side, Joanna Thompson finished in second place, while Megan Moye and Erika Kemp placed seventh and eighth for the Wolfpack.

Two-time All-American and three-time All-ACC selection Andrew Colley will make his season debut for the Pack at the Griak Invitational. Colley enters his senior season as one of the most successful runners in NC State history, having earned numerous honors and awards over the duration of his career, including 2012 ACC Performer of the Year. Redshirt freshman Sam Parsons and redshirt junior Michael Mansy will also make their first appearances on the year for the NC State men as well.

On the women's side, redshirt sophomore Olivia Enright, sophomore Kaitlyn Kramer and redshirt senior Emily Pritt will be making their season debuts for the Pack at the Griak Invitational.

While the overall competition begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, the No. 24 Wolfpack men begin their race in the Merrill Fischbein Gold Men's, 8K, at 12:20 p.m. The No. 21 State women race in the Jack Johnson Gold Women's 6K, at 1:10 p.m.
