    Aug. 31, 2011

Tayla Cunningham is a senior majoring in Biological Sciences with a concentration in human biology and a minor in Microbiology, with the goal of attending dental school in 2012. Tayla was born and raised in Charlotte, NC.

Though her passion for dance developed well before the age of 2, it was at this age that she began dancing for B.B. Dance Productions. She has been trained under the direction of Veronica Badgett, owner of B.B. Dance Productions, in ballet, tap, jazz, gymnastics, hip hop, and lyrical. She began competing, both regionally and nationally, at the age of 4, and continued to compete throughout elementary, middle, and high school where her and her dance groups have won several championship titles.

In addition to competing, she has also had the opportunity to perform on "It's Showtime at the Apollo" in New York, Disney World, a commercial for Mayfield Ice Cream, and several NBA games in Charlotte. Tayla is so grateful for the continued support and love she has received from her studio.

Tayla has been on the NC State Dance Team since her freshman year and is looking forward to her final year as a dancer on the team. She has also been a member of the nationals team for all three years that she has been on the dance team. She loves being a part of such a wonderful, talented, and dedicated group of girls, and admires the dynamic of the group as a whole.

She is excited about the upcoming year and looks forward to continuing to work together as a team to move forward and achieve their goals. ??Outside of dance, Tayla is also an ambassador for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

In addition, teaches oral hygiene and nutritional lessons at a Chatham County pre-school every week. She enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family, and is so appreciative of their support. Tayla absolutely loves being a dancer for the Wolfpack, and though she didn't know much about the pride of the Pack before coming to NC State, she is proud to say that she is, and will forever be, a part of the Wolfpack.
