Alumni Spotlight: Caroline King
Aug. 31, 2011
Caroline began her dancing career at Center Stage Dance Studio at the ripe-old age of 3. She competed in all areas of dance including jazz, tap, lyrical, gymnastics and hip hop. While at Center Stage, she had the opportunity to dance in the halftime show of the Orange Bowl in Orlando, Florida and also travel all over the country competing in regional and national competitions. She became a member of the "Fab 15" when she turned 18 for having 15 years of dance lessons under her belt from her studio. She was also a member of the varsity cheerleading and track teams while at South Rowan High School.
Caroline joined the NC State Dance team her freshman year of college and was a member all four years, becoming Captain her senior year. She made lifelong friendships with her teammates and loved every minute of dancing for the Wolfpack and representing her school at Nationals each year in Daytona Beach, Florida.
After graduation, Caroline got her broker's license and began working for a commercial real estate firm in Raleigh, where she has been for over 3 years.
Caroline's second passion to dance has always been fashion. In 2010, Caroline and one of her close friends from NC State launched their very own, online clothing boutique, vestique.com. The boutique carries several different designers from all over the country and an array of hand-picked pieces from dresses and tops to jewelry and accessories. Caroline is passionate about her business and giving her customers a unique shopping experience. She is excited to see what the future holds for vestique and appreciates the support she has received from her family, friends, boyfriend and the NC State Dance team throughout the company's launch!
