    A tested veteran who has started and closed in his three seasons with the Wolfpack … Enters his final season at NC State having appeared in 68 games to rank fourth all-time in school history, just five behind Dustin Baker’s record of 73.

    As a junior (2001): A veteran reliever who gave the Wolfpack experience at the back end of the bullpen … Went 3-1 with three saves and a 5.44 ERA … Made a staff-high 26 appearances … Worked 41 1/3 innings, allowed 46 hits, walked 20 and struck out 41 … Ended the regular season on a high note, allowing just three runs in his last eight innings of work … Got his first win of the season March 5 vs. Ball State with a scoreless inning in relief … Threw 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief March 11 at Georgia Tech to get the win in the Wolfpack’s 16-8 win over the Yellow Jackets … Defeated North Carolina on March 30 with 4 2/3 innings of relief work, allowing one run on one hit and one walk, while striking out a career-high eight … Got the final out April 10 at Virginia Commonwealth to preserve Jason Blanton’s 7-4 win over the Rams.

    As a sophomore (2000): Began the season as one of the Wolfpack’s three weekend starting pitchers, but moved to the bullpen midway through the year … Picked up the Pack’s first win of the season with seven strong innings February 13 vs. Old Dominion at Charleston, S.C., allowing one run on seven hits in seven innings … Got the win in a 14-9 victory on March 5 against George Mason after allowing five runs, one earned, on six hits in five innings … Pitched a gem on March 19 vs. Virginia, allowing three runs on seven hits in a complete game, only to lose 3-1 … Retired 20 of 23 batters at one point, but was charged with two runs in the ninth to take the loss … Allowed just two earned runs in his last six outings of the year, covering 12 2/3 innings.

    As a freshman (1999): Was one of the Wolfpack’s most reliable and effective pitchers over the last two-plus months … Began the season by allowing six runs on 11 hits in his first four appearances, but went 4-0 after that with one save and a 1.82 ERA in 18 outings … Had a 1.29 ERA over his last 11 outings (21 innings) and a 0.98 ERA over his last nine appearances (18 1/3 innings) … Had one of the Wolfpack’s best outings of the season on May 14-15 in the first game of a doubleheader vs. Clemson, coming on in relief in the top of the second inning and holding the Tigers to one earned run on three hits in 7 2/3 innings to pick up his fourth win of the season … Earned his first save May 19 vs. Georgia Tech in the third round of the ACC Tournament, allowing no runs on two hits in three innings … Allowed just one run on seven hits in four innings against a powerful offensive team from Tulane, walking none and striking out four.

    High school and personal: Was one of the top prep pitchers in North Carolina … Earned first-team all-conference honors in the Southwestern 4-A Conference after going 6-2 with a 1.09 ERA for Coach Gary Smith at Providence High … Allowed 10 walks and struck out 63 in 49 innings of work … Helped lead Providence to a 26-4 record and a berth in the state 4-A playoffs … A first-team all-state selection as a junior … Went 11-2 with a 1.62 ERA as Providence went 25-6 and advanced all the way to the state 4-A finals … Worked 80 innings, allowing 80 hits, walking 23 and striking out 83 … Was named first-team all-conference, and was named to The Charlotte Observer’s All-Mecklenburg first team … Played in the State Games following his sophomore and junior seasons … Played in the Eastern U.S. Showcase Area Code Games … Majoring in psychology … Born May 5, 1980.
