Underwent Tommy John surgery June 2, 2005, and will miss the entire 2006 season while rehabilitating from the surgery. As a sophomore (2005): Emerged as the Wolfpack's Friday night starter before being shelved with a torn ligament in his right elbow ... Went 3-2 with a 2.23 ERA over his final six starts, but was done for the season after facing Wake Forest on April 15 ... Started and worked six innings February 6 vs. Delaware State, picking up the win after holding the Hornets to a run on six hits and two walks while striking out six ... Came out of the bullpen February 12 vs. Campbell, his only relief outing of the season, and got his second win of the year with three innings of shutout relief work, allowing just one hit and striking out four ... Started and threw five scoreless innings February 20 against San Diego State ... Earned the win March 5 at sixth-ranked Miami, holding the Hurricanes to two runs in 5 2/3 innings while striking out two ... Scattered six hits and struck out six over 7 2/3 shutout innings April 1 against Virginia Tech to earn his fourth win of the season ... Started April 8 at Virginia and took a no-hitter into the sixth inning ... Wound up with a tough-luck loss to the Cavaliers after allowing just one run on one hit in 5 2/3 innings ... Started the Wake Forest game April 15, allowing just one run on four hits in six strong innings ... Walked one and struck out a career-high seven in what proved to be his season finale. As a freshman (2004): Made seven relief appearances, none of them more than three innings ... Pitched a 1-2-3 inning March 30 vs. Old Dominion, striking out two of the three men he faced ... Summer league: Pitched for Saratoga of the New York Collegiate League in 2004 and was named to the league's postseason all-star team after going 1-3 with a 4.58 ERA in seven appearances, six of them starts ... Worked 37 innings, allowing 40 hits, walking just 12 and striking out 35. High school: Went 8-4 with a save and a 1.29 ERA as a senior in 2003 at D.H. Conley High School ...
