Pack Hosts Canisius, UC Santa Barbara Cancelled

    Feb. 13, 2014

(UPDATE: 6:03 p.m., Feb. 13) NC State baseball will host Canisius for a three-game series beginning on Saturday, February 15. The series will continue on Sunday and conclude on Monday. Game times are still to be determined, based on the evolving weather situation.

The Wolfpack takes on Baseball America's choice to win the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, a Canisius squad that won a school record 42 games and made waves in the triangle last year with hard-fought appearances in the Chapel Hill Regional.

The Golden Griffins possess two of Baseball America's Top 10 MAAC Prospects for 2014: first baseman Brett Siddall and righthander Devon Stewart.

The makeup scheduling news comes after NC State's coaching staff reported great progress in clearing snow on Thursday, building confidence that Doak Field will be game-ready by Saturday.

Updates including game times for this weekend's series will be posted to GoPack.com and tweeted by @NCStateBaseball.

(UPDATE: 2:38 p.m., Feb. 13) NC State baseball's season-opening trip to UC Santa Barbara has been cancelled due to severe weather in the Raleigh area. All three games of the series are cancelled.

The Wolfpack's flight to California was scheduled to depart Raleigh on Wednesday night. NC State administration, coaches, and support staff sought alternatives, but the adverse weather has presented difficulties too great to overcome.

NC State's coaching staff is making efforts to schedule replacement games for this weekend.
