ATLANTA, Ga. -- Jed Bradley scattered five hits over seven innings, and Georgia Tech scored six runs in the third inning and defeated NC State 12-0 in the second game of a three-game Atlantic Coast Conference baseball series at Russ Chandler Stadium.
Georgia Tech, which improved to 16-4 overall and 5-0 in the conference, leads the series two games to none. NC State dropped to 10-9 overall and 1-4 in the conference, and will look to salvage the final game of the series on Sunday.
The Yellow Jackets took all the suspense out of the game with six runs in the third inning and three more in the fourth. Matt Skole's bases-loaded double and Jake Davies' three-run homer accounted for the six-run third inning. Kyle Wren, Daniel Palka and Zane Evans had RBI singles in the fourth for Georgia Tech, chasing NC State starter Danny Healey (1-2) from the game after 3 2/3 innings.
Bradley (3-0) did not allow a hit until Pratt Maynard slapped an opposite-field single to left field in the top of the fourth inning. Bradley allowed just two Wolfpack baserunners to reach scoring position in his seven innings of work. He walked two and struck out five.
Palka hit a two-out RBI double in the sixth to give Georgia Tech a 10-0 lead, and Chase Butler and Alex Cruz drove in a run apiece with pinch-hit singles in the ninth inning.
