CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - No. 19 NC State swept a doubleheader Saturday at Boston College by roaring back from a 5-0 deficit to take game one 6-5, and closing with a 6-2 victory behind a five-run third inning in game two.

The Wolfpack (27-10, 10-7 ACC) extended its current winning streak to nine games with the victories, but the day got off to a rocky start. Boston College (6-28, 0-16) vaulted out to a 5-0 lead through two innings of game one. State bounced back with four runs in the top of the fourth to narrow the gap, then scored two in the sixth to take the lead. The Eagles made it interesting by moving two runners into scoring position with one out in the bottom of the ninth, before Grant Sasser shut the door on the 6-5 win.

The five-run comeback represents the largest since March 15, 2011, when NC State matched that en route to a 7-5 win over Buffalo.

In game two, the Pack fell behind 1-0 in the bottom second. State rallied with five runs in the top of the third to take command, and added one more in the fourth for good measure. Boston College only managed to score once more in the seventh to set the final at 6-2.

Tarran Senay had a monster day going a combined 4-for-7 with a double, three RBIs, and two runs while extending his hitting streak to 12 games. Trea Turner followed him with a 3-for-7, two run, one RBI performance. Turner also stole two bases in game one to pull within one of tying Tom Sergio's NC State career stolen base record.

Jake Fincher reached base in both games, improving to 36-for-37 on reaching base at least once in each game. Grant Clyde kept his hot streak going with a 2-for-5 day including two walks, two runs, and a double. Sam Morgan drew two starts at designated hitter and provided a 2-for-7 effort with an RBI and a run.

D.J. Thomas (2-0) silenced the BC bats after entering in the third inning of game one, going 3 1/3 innings while giving up just two hits, one walk, and striking out three. Grant Sasser earned his fourth save of the year by working the final three innings and holding the Eagles hitless.

Ryan Wilkins (5-1) claimed his second win in two starts this season, going a career-long seven innings while allowing two earned in game two. Travis Orwig relieved him with 1 2/3 innings of shutout ball. Chris Overman scored his fifth save of the year by striking out the final batter of the game.

NC State returns to action on Sunday with the series finale at Boston College. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. Radio coverage will be provided by 88.1 WKNC. Fans can also follow along with live stats on GoPack.com, or on Twitter via @NCStateBaseball.
