Baseball's Lost Weekend Continues; Rained Out Sunday
RALEIGH, N.C. - Weather cost NC State another baseball game Sunday. For the second day in a row, the Wolfpack had a baseball game with Hofstra rained out. The Pack and Pride played a doubleheader on Friday, so the net loss in the scheduled three-game series was only one game, but a winter storm warning for the area has Monday's scheduled game with North Carolina A&T also in jeopardy. The Wolfpack and Aggies are scheduled for a 3 p.m. first pitch, weather permitting. In addition, NC State's original 2009 schedule was just 55 games. The NCAA allows teams to play 56 regular-season games.
NC State will travel to Miami Tuesday and spend spring break in South Florida. The Wolfpack will play Villanova at a neutral site on Wednesday and a three-game series at the University of Miami over the weekend. The coaching staff was looking for an additional game or games to add to the schedule during the trip and for when the team returns to Raleigh. NC State will host George Mason on March 10, but March 11 currently is an open date.
