NC State hosts Maryland for a three-game series opening with a pair of 6:30 p.m. starts on Friday and Saturday, and concluding with a 1 p.m. Sunday finale. All three games will be broadcast by ESPN3.
The Wolfpack (17-9, 3-6 ACC) dropped two of three last season at Maryland (14-10, 3-6). The Pack returns to Doak Field at Dail Park for its first home game since March 19, and its first home series since March 10.
Friday night's matchup features a pair of potential ACC Pitcher of the Year candidates in NC State's Carlos Rodon and Maryland's Jimmy Reed. If Rodon plans to repeat, he'll have to outduel Reed first.
Rodon and Reed did not meet in 2012, but pitched back-to-back gems in the series. Reed made his first career start and shut out the Wolfpack for eight innings, striking out eight and allowing just two hits. Rodon answered on Saturday with a complete game, striking out eight, and holding the Terps to one earned as the Pack evened the series.
All three games will stream live on ESPN3. Radio coverage for the weekend will be provided by 88.1 WKNC. Fans can also follow along on Twitter via @NCStateBaseball, or with live stats on GoPack.com.
