April 18, 2013
SCHEDULING NOTE: Friday's game has been delayed one hour until 8 p.m. due to weather. The following release has been updated to reflect this change.
No. 15 NC State travels to No. 14 Georgia Tech for a three-game series beginning Friday at 8 p.m. and streamed live on ESPN3.
The Wolfpack (29-10, 11-7 ACC) carries an 11-game win streak to Atlanta to meet the homestanding Yellow Jackets (27-10, 11-7) at 8 p.m. on Friday, 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
State took last year's series in Raleigh two games to one after winning back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday. The Pack has not won a series at Georgia Tech since 2001.
The Pack's last two starters (Ethan Ogburn and Brad Stone) have taken no-hitters into the seventh. Ogburn had a perfect game broken up by the first batter of the seventh at Charlotte on April 16. Stone had a no-hitter broken up by the first batter of the seventh at Boston College on April 14.
NC State has trailed in seven straight ACC games, but has come back to win all seven. The Pack's five-run comeback on Friday at Boston College was its largest since March 15, 2011 vs. Buffalo.
In those seven comebacks, the Wolfpack bullpen has performed admirably. During State's 11-game winning streak, Pack relievers are 7-0 with six saves and a 1.27 ERA, striking out 50 and walking 12 for a 4.2 to 1 K/BB ratio. Opponents are batting .183 against Pack relievers during the streak, while State batters are hitting opposing relievers at a .296 clip.
All three of the weekend's games will be streamed live on ESPN3.com. Radio coverage will be provided by 88.1 WKNC. Fans can also follow along with live stats from GoPack.com, or on Twitter via @NCStateBaseball.
