RALEIGH, N.C. - No. 13 NC State wraps up its regular season home schedule with a 6 p.m. tilt against UNC Greensboro Tuesday at Doak Field at Dail Park.
The Wolfpack (36-13, 18-9 ACC) comes into the game having won 12 of its last 13 contests, and five-consecutive out-of-conference games. State has not dropped a home game since an 11-10 loss to Boston College on April 20, and boasts a 24-4 record at Doak Field at Dail Park.
Miss North Carolina Hailey Best will sing the national anthem, Mark Thomas and Mike Maniscalco from 620 The Buzz will throw out the first pitch, and fans can enjoy $1 popcorn and hot dogs from the concession stands.
Greensboro (24-24) tabbed right-hander Adam Boghosian (0-1, 4.97 ERA) as its starter. He’ll face the Pack’s Logan Jernigan (4-1, 5.66), making the first midweek start of his career.
NC State’s Ryan Mathews enters the game with the ACC’s longest active hit streak at 17 games. Mathews hit a pair of game-winning home runs in the Wolfpack’s series last weekend at Virginia Tech to keep his streak alive.
Trea Turner became only the third player in the history of the ACC to steal 50 bases in a single season over the weekend, improving to 50-for-52 on the season to lead the NCAA.
