    GREENSBORO, N.C. - No. 13 NC State punched its ticket to the 2012 ACC Baseball Championship as the third seed, equaling its highest seeding for the tournament since 1993, according to the pairings announced Sunday by the conference office.

    The ACC Baseball Championship will be held Wednesday, May 23 through Sunday, May 27, at NewBridge Bank Park in Greensboro, N.C. Pool play will conclude on Saturday night, with the championship game slated for noon on Sunday.

    Joining North Carolina, Miami, and Wake Forest in pool B, the Wolfpack (38-15, 19-11 ACC) opens with the sixth-seeded Hurricanes at 3 p.m. Wednesday, meets the seventh-seeded Demon Deacons on Thursday and 7 p.m., and takes on the second-seeded Tar Heels at 7 p.m. Saturday night.

    The Pack’s standing as the third seed ties its highest since 1993, when State earned the second overall seed for the tournament held in Greenville, S.C. Since 1993, the Wolfpack had finished the regular season third on two occasions, in 1997 and again in 2003.

    All eight teams qualifying for the field are ranked among the top 40 in the NCAA’s latest RPI.

    All 13 games of this year’s ACC Baseball Championship will be televised for the sixth straight year. RSN will carry 12 total games on Wednesday through Saturday. Click HERE for local affiliates and stations. Sunday’s noon championship game will televised nationally by ESPN2.
    Additionally, ESPN3 will carry streaming coverage of all 13 tournament game. 88.1 WKNC will provide radio coverage for the Wolfpack, while Sirius 93 will broadcast all 13 games live via satellite radio.
