Former NC State pitcher Andrew Taylor has been called up to the majors, joining the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on September 1.

Taylor was drafted by Los Angeles in the 34th round of the 2008 draft, and worked his way through the minor league system with his final stop coming with the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees. Taylor sported a 1-0 record and 3.50 ERA over his last 16 games with the Bees.

Now, Taylor represents one of three lefthanders in the Angels bullpen. His promotion came at the same time as fellow lefty Nick Maronde, and Scott Downs’s return from leave.
