    This is the first time that the Wolfpack and Cardinal have met on the court.

    This is State’s first true road game of the year. 

    The last time NC State faced a Pac-12 team was last season when it hosted Arizona, falling to the Wildcats, 72-62.

    • The last time State played a Pac-12 school on the road was a 76-74 loss at Arizona on Dec. 23, 2009.

    •NC State’s last road win against a Pac-12 school came at Oregon State, when the Pack defeated OSU, 66-58, on Dec 22, 1993.

    • The Wolfpack’s last victory over a Pac-12 team was a 79-68 victory against Arizona State on Jan. 29, 2000.

    • Sophomore guard Lorenzo Brown has averaged 20.0 points over the last two games. His 21 against Elon was a career high.

    • Junior forward Scott Wood is shooting 60 percent (18-30) from three-point range this season.

    NC STATE-STANFORD, THE SERIES:  This will be the first-ever meeting between NC State and Stanford in basketball. All-time NC State is 14-10 against Pac-12 schools. 

    LAST TIME OUT: Despite sophomore guard Lorenzo Brown’s team-high 19 points, NC State fell to Indiana, 86-75, on Wednesday at home in the 13th installment of the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. The setback was NC State’s fourth straight loss in the event and it’s second loss of the year. 

    The Wolfpack trailed the Hoosiers early, but battled back to take a one-point halftime lead on a put back by sophomore forward C.J. Leslie of a with a second remaining in the period.

    Indiana native, junior forward Scott Wood, led all scorers at the break with 13 points going 2-of-2 from three-point range and 5-for-5 at the break. Wood finished the night with 16 points.

    In the second half, NC State took its largest lead of the night at seven points with 7:48 remaining. The Hoosiers tied the score at 68 at the 4:19 mark before putting the game away with a 10-0 run over the final 2:02.

    Leslie recorded his first double-double of the year with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Junior center DeShawn Painter also had 10 points and grabbed six rebounds. 

    FIRST TRUE ROAD TEST FOR THE PACK: While the Wolfpack has played two games away from home, this will be its first true road game. 

    NC State faced Vanderbilt and Texas on neutral ground, playing the two squad in the Legends Classic at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J. 

    GOTTFRIED VS. THE PAC-12: NC State coach Mark Gottfried owns a 5-5 mark against Pac-12 teams during his tenure as a head coach. Gottfried has squared off against Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, Utah* and Washington while at Alabama and Murray State.

    GOTTFRIED VS. THE PAC-12 (PART II): During his seven seasons as a UCLA assisant (1988-95) to Jim Harrick, Mark Gottfried helped the Bruins to a 10-4 record against Stanford. Gottfried and UCLA sported a 2-4 record after the first six meetings with the Cardinal, the Bruins reeled off eight straight victories in the series.

    STATE VS. THE PAC-12: NC State will be facing a Pac-12 opponent for only the 23rd time in the Wolfpack’s 102 history of basketball. The Pack is 14-10 all time against teams from the Pac-12, topping both Arizona State and Oregon State a total of four times each. 

    STATE VS. CALIFORNIA PAC-12 SQUADS: The Pack is 4-5 all time against Pac-12 teams from California.  This is only NC State’s third trip to play on a Pac-12 team’s home court, having dropped its previous two road trips to the Golden State, a 88-80 loss at UCLA  on Dec. 28, 1995 and a 71-55 setback at Southern Cal on Dec. 17, 1966.

    When State played at UCLA during the Bruins 1995 NCAA title run, Wolfpack head coach Mark Gottried was a UCLA assistant coach.

    NC STATE-STANFORD CONNECTION: While this is the first-ever meeting between the Cardinal and Wolfpack, there is a connection Palo Alto and Raleigh. State coach Mark Gottfried’s oldest son Brandon is a sophomore tight end on the Cardinal football team.  

    OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION:  NC State ranks second in the ACC in scoring offense at 78.3 points per game. North Carolina leads the league in the category with an output of 84.0 points per contest. 

    BROWN WHAT DOES FOR STATE: Since moving to the point guard spot full time this season, sophomore guard Lorenzo Brown isn’t showing any problems making the transition. 

    Brown is averaging 14.0 points per game and 6.2 assists per contest. In a 82-67 win over Elon, Brown recorded a career-high 21 points. Over the last three game, Brown is averaging 17.0 points and 5.0 assist per game. 

    WOOD FROM THREE: Junior forward Scott Wood is shooting 60 percent (18-of-30) from three-point range this season. In wins over Elon and Morehead State, Wood  made five three-pointers. 

    Wood leads in the ACC in three-point field goal percentage and is second in three-point field goals made.
