    COACHING EXPERIENCE: College - Assistant head coach/Defensive line coach at NC State (2004- present); Director of Strength and Conditioning coach at NC State (2000-2003); Strength and conditioning coach at Memphis (1997-99); Head coach at University of West Alabama (1994-96); Strength and conditioning coach at Auburn (1993); Strength and conditioning coach/defensive line coach at Samford (1987-93); Defensive line coach at Central Florida (1986).

    PLAYING EXPERIENCE: Three-year starter at noseguard for Florida State (1983-85) under position coach Chuck Amato.

    EDUCATION:?Received a B.S. in movement science from Florida State in 1985; Earned a master's degree in athletic administration from Alabama-Birmingham in 1988.

    PERSONAL DATA: A native of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Married to the former Marianne Sylvers of Minneapolis, Minn.; Has three daughters, Jessica (16), Alexandra (15) and Chelsea (14).

    BOWL EXPERIENCE: As a coach - 2005 Meineke Car Care Bowl.

    OTHER HIGHLIGHTS: As a player - Captained the 1985 Florida State squad that earned a trip to the Gator Bowl; Also helped lead the Seminoles to the 1983 Peach Bowl and 1984 Citrus Bowl; A two-time NSCA Nutrament All-American; As a coach - Named the 2000 National Strength and Conditioning Association's Conference USA Professional of the Year; One of 20 nominees for the national Strength and Conditioning Professional of the Year award; Helped lead the Pack to bowl game victories at the 2000 Micronpc.com Bowl, 2003 Gator Bowl and the 2003 Tangerine Bowl. Coached Mario Williams and Manny Lawson to the All-ACC first team in 2005, with Williams picking up All-America honors from Sports Illustrated.
