RALEIGH, N.C. - The Student Ticket Advisory Committee has worked with the Department of Athletics to develop several initiatives for 2014-15 that will help make the ticketing and football parking distribution process easier for the Wolfpack’s most important fans: the students.
This year, students will have the option to choose mobile ticket delivery in addition to a print-at-home option. Mobile ticket delivery is an electronic delivery method by which tickets are emailed and are optimized for display on smartphone device. This will eliminate worry about having to print tickets prior to game day or lost or misplaced tickets. Regardless of which option is chosen, delivery of the tickets will only happen after the weighted student lottery.
Students will receive two emails after they are selected in the lottery — one contains the tickets that can be scanned on a smartphone or added to Passbook and the other will be an order confirmation email (does not include tickets). Although each student must still present a hard or mobile ticket and ID upon delivery, this will make the ticketing procedure much more convenient. Seating location is still determined by arrival time at the gate, and students are seated on a first come, first served basis.
The committee also worked to establish a fair and equitable plan for current NC State students with a game ticket to obtain a football parking permit while supplies last and to minimize and/or eliminate the following:
1. The “borrowing” of other student IDs due to sensitive information being stored on IDs
2. Having only one (1) distribution location on one day
3. Missed classes/time in line
To alleviate those concerns, there will be three additional football parking distribution locations and one additional football parking distribution day. In addition to the traditional pickup at Reynolds Coliseum on Day 1 from (9 a.m.- 11 a.m.), there will also be 2 more distrinution points from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., at Harrelson Hall and Wolf Ridge Commons. On Day 2 from Noon until 1 p.m., passes will be distributed at the Talley Student Union. Students may consult www.gopack.com/students for specific dates and times.
NC State students with valid ID and game ticket will be able to pick up one football parking pass on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. Students IDs will be swiped at each location to ensure multiple passes are not picked up. Each distribution location will have an equal predetermined number of parking passes to distribute.
The committee also changed the start of the protected 30-minute queuing time for men’s basketball for Phase 1 tickets. Instead of beginning 2.5 hours prior to tip off when the parking lots open, queuing will begin 2 hours prior to tip off, allowing students more time to park their cars and get to the PNC Arena East Entrance.
