Raleigh, N.C. -
For the sixth consecutive year, the NC State football team will be holding its annual Toys for Tots Drive this weekend, when the Wolfpack hosts Wake Forest at Carter-Finley Stadium Saturday at 3 p.m.
Tom O’Brien, a member of the national board for the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program, has brought his passion for that cause to the entire Wolfpack nation. In the past five years, the team has helped raise over $200,000 for Toys for Tots and a highlight each year has been the shopping trip when the Pack players take money donated by the fans and purchase toys to be given to children over the holidays.
The last time NC State and Wake Forest met in the Toys for Tots game two years ago, fans of the schools donated more than $24,000 in cash and over 3,000 toys. This year, Coke has already donated $15,000 for the 30 touchdowns the Pack scored through last weekend.
Fans can bring a new, unwrapped toy or a cash donation to the Fan Zone beginning at noon this Saturday. Fans will receive a free NC State car flag for any donation made in the Fan Zone, compliments of Coca-Cola and while supplies last. Cash donations will be accepted by members of the US Marine Corps at all major gate entrances to Carter-Finley Stadium prior to the game.
Fans not attending the game can make toy donations at any Triangle area Food Lion location. Look for the special Coca-Cola Toys for Tots display featuring Coach O’Brien to donate.
