NC State Sells Out of Bowl Ticket Allotment
Dec. 12, 2011
Raleigh, N.C. -
Just four days after being selected to play in the 2011 Belk Bowl in Charlotte, NC State sold out its entire ticket allotment of 12,500. As of Monday morning, more than 17,500 tickets had been sold through the school with that number continuing to rise.
NC State was selected to play in the Belk Bowl on Sunday, Dec. 4. On Thursday, Dec. 8, Wolfpack officials requested a block of 4,000 additional tickets from the bowl to fulfill orders placed in those first four days. By late Sunday, the State athletics department again contacted the bowl to secure additional seats to accommodate fans ordering before the priority deadline.
Total sales for the Dec. 27th game have now eclipsed 53,000. Before the participating teams were announced, 18,000 tickets were sold through the bowl. Since the announcement, NC State fans have purchased approximately 24,000 tickets.
“There will be a sea of Wolfpack red in Charlotte and we are very appreciative that our fans care so much about Wolfpack football,” said Director of Athletics Deborah A. Yow.
State will hold two open practices this weekend for anyone who wants to see the team’s preparation for the Dec. 27 matchup with Louisville. Fans are invited to come to Carter-Finley Stadium on Saturday at 2:30 or Sunday at 2:45 p.m. to see the team work out.
“This is no surprise to me or anybody who follows Wolfpack football,” said head coach Tom O’Brien. “Our fans are the best in the nation and we knew they would come out en masse to support us at the Belk Bowl.”
Wolfpack fans who still wish to order tickets can do so through the Belk Bowl at the above link. Although NC State has exhausted its entire allowance of tickets, fans can select “ACC” when they order tickets through the bowl website.
Fans attending the Belk Bowl are invited to attend the Pack Rally pre-game tailgate. For more information on this event, click here.
