Pack, Choi Share Lead at USF Invitational

DADE CITY, FLA. - NC State is tied for the lead after first round action on Sunday at the USF Invitational at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club. Junior All-American Albin Choi is also atop the leaderboard, as he is currently tied for the individual lead.
The Wolfpack sits at 1-under 287 after the first 18 of 36 holes to be played. NC State is one of only two of the 17 teams participating that finished the first round under par. The Pack started the round on the 10th hole, and finished with an eagle and 15 birdies.
Choi was the Pack's top golfer of the round, sitting in a tie for the individual lead at 4-under 68. The junior birdied two of the first three holes, and was at 3-under after the first nine holes. Choi holed an eagle on the par-5 No. 2, and finished the round with a total of five birdies.
Junior Logan Harrell is just one shot back, as he is tied for fourth at 3-under 69. Howell birdied three of the first four holes on the day, and finished with a team-best six for the round.
Rounding out the Pack's lineup, redshirt sophomore James Chapman shot an 8-over 80.
South Carolina is tied with the Pack atop the team standings, while the Gamecock's Dykes Harbin is tied with Choi for the individual lead.
Second round action will take place tomorrow, with the third round being played on Tuesday.
