Wolfpack Completes First Day at Redhawk Invitational

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Playing at the prestigious Chambers Bay Golf Club, the site of the 2015 United States Open Championship, the NC State men's golf team completed the first day of competition at the 2014 Redhawk Invitational late Monday evening.
Following two rounds of play, the Wolfpack currently sits in 11th place with a team score of 579 (+19).
Senior Logan Harrell led the way for State on the first day of the tournament, shooting 73-69 to end with a 142 (+2). He is currently tied for 21st in the 92-golfer field.
Teammate Carter Page was the next finisher for the Pack, carding scores of 71 and 73 to end the day with a 144 (+4) to sit tied for 31st.
James Chapman (T53) and David Cooke (T59) placed next for the Pack. Chapman cut two strokes from his first-round score of 75 to end the day with a two-round total of 148 (+8). He was followed closely by Cooke, who shot 69-80 to end Monday's portion of the tournament with a score of 149 (+9).
Rounding out the Pack's first day of competition at the tournament was Stanhope Johnson. The redshirt freshman shot steady scores of 75 and 76 to end with a 151 (+11). He is currently tied for 70th place.
The Wolfpack will complete play in the final round of the 2014 Redhawk Invitational on Tuesday. Tee times are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. ET.
