State Finishes Play at 2014 Redhawk Invitational

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – The NC State men’s golf team completed play at the 2014 Redhawk Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the prestigious Chambers Bay Golf Club, the site of the 2015 United States Open Championship.
Through three rounds of play at the par-70, 7,047-yard course, the Wolfpack placed 11th with a team score of 878 (+38). State finished ahead of St. John’s, Boise State, Long Beach State, Seton Hall, Northern Colorado, Northern Illinois, and host Seattle at the tournament.
The Pack was led by sophomore Carter Page, who tied for 29th place with a three-round score of 218 (+8). He was followed closely by teammates Logan Harrell and David Cooke, each of whom tied for 34th with three-round scores of 220 (+10).
Cooke recorded State’s best round of the day, shooting a 71 (+1) on Tuesday.
Harrell proved to be very effective on the par-three holes at the course, tying for fifth with an average of 2.83 strokes per hole. His combined score on all of the par-three holes was -2.
Redshirt junior James Chapman was the Wolfpack’s next finisher, tying for 55th in the 92-golfer field with a three-round score of 224 (+14).
Stanhope Johnson rounded things out for State at the tournament, tying for 76th with a 229 (+19).
The Wolfpack will close out the 2014 regular season by hosting the Wolfpack Spring Open at Lonnie Poole Golf Course on the campus of NC State University from Apr. 19-20. State will then compete at the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships at Old North State Club in London, N.C., from Apr. 25-27.
