Wolfpack Tied for Fifth as Host of the Intercollegiate at Raleigh Country Club after Two Rounds of Play Walters, Moon, and Lewton among top-20 individuals.

Senior Jason Moon fired a 69 and is currently tied for 18th.

NC State was one of only three schools to place three golfers among the top-20 individuals after two rounds of play at the Intercollegiate at the Raleigh Country Club. The No. 16 Wolfpack holds in fifth place with a 569, tied with No. 25 Tennessee (569), and behind leader and co-host No. 11 North Carolina (560). No. 54 Tulsa (561), No. 40 SMU (564) and No. 3 Wake Forest (566) round out the top-five. Jason Moon fired the low round for NC State with a first round 69, while the lowest score for both rounds belonged to UNC's Richard Treis, who fired a second round, six-under-par 65.

The Wolfpack is nine strokes off the lead and holds a one-stroke lead over defending NCAA Champion Minnesota.

Seniors Jason Moon and Justin Walters lead the way for NC State, with freshman Stephen Lewton tagging along as all three players are tied for 18th with 142, even-par, after two holes. Moon fired rounds of 69 and 73, Walters chipped in 72 and 70, while Lewton carded a pair of 71s. Fernando Mechereffe and Rodney Thomas are tied for 50th in the 81 player field, with 147.

Wesley Horne has put together a strong showing playing as an individual for the Wolfpack, tying for 50th after torunds of 73 and 74. The senior is the second highest competitor among players competing as individuals. Sophomore Sutton Barbrey has also done well as an individual in the field, firing 74-76=150 for a share of 66th.

Final round action tees off at 8am at the Donald Ross designed Raleigh Country Club. The par 71, 6,782 yard layout is nestled just in side the beltline not far from downtown Raleigh.
