State Finishes Third at Wolfpack Intercollegiate Albin Choi (T4) and William Herring (T9) record top-10s for the Wolfpack

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State finished third this weekend at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate at Lonnie Poole Golf Course.

North Carolina won the third installment of the tournament with a final team score of 10-under 854.

East Carolina finished second at even-par 864, while NC State was third at 14-over 878.

North Carolina’s Brandon Dalinka set a tournament record at LPGC with a 6-under 66 to win his first collegiate tournament with a -6 210. The previous best score was a 5-under 66 set by Albin Choi in 2010 when the course was setup as a par-71.

Choi finished tied for fourth at 1-under 215 this week to lead the Wolfpack contingency. His busy 2012 will continue when he goes down to Florida this week for PGA TOUR Qualifying school, Tuesday-Friday.

Wolfpack sophomore individual William Herring notched his best collegiate finish with a tied for ninth showing at even-par 216.

Teammates and fellow individuals Chad Cox and Wilson Day finished tied for 13th and tied for 16th +2 and +3, respectively.

Senior Hunter Howell was the Wolfpack’s second best team finisher at +3 for a top-20.

NC State is back in action next weekend at the Bridgestone Intercollegiate hosted by UNCG at the Grandover Resort’s East Course in Greensboro, N.C.
