RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State men’s golf team takes to the road for its final regular-season tournament beginning on Monday, as the squad heads out west to University Place, Wash., to compete at the 2014 Redhawk Invitational. The tournament will be hosted by Seattle University at the prestigious Chambers Bay Golf Club, the course which is set to host the 2015 United States Open Championship.

The Chambers Bay Golf Club will play a par of 70 over a total of 7,047 yards.

Next week’s tournament is scheduled for 36 holes on Monday (Apr. 7) and 18 holes on Tuesday (Apr. 8). Starts are scheduled in shotgun format for 11 a.m. ET each day.

At the competition, Wolfpack golfers will square off against two top-25 teams in No. 14 UCLA and No. 15 Washington. The full field of 18 teams also includes Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, CSU Northridge, Denver, Long Beach State, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Northern Illinois, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego, Seattle University (host), Seton Hall, and St. John’s.

As a team, NC State was last in action March 23-25 at the 2014 Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate. The Pack placed ninth among 15 teams at the event and had two golfers (Logan Harrell and David Cooke) finish within the top 30 of the tournament field.

Earlier this week, the Wolfpack sent four golfers to compete individually at the Campbell Oil/Sunoco Classic in Wallace, N.C. Freshman Jacob McBride led the way with a terrific performance, tying for fifth place with a 221 (+5). Teammates Wilson Day (T28, 230), Chad Cox (T34, 231), and Colby Lyles (T50, 236) also competed at the event on Monday and Tuesday.
