Kiawah Island, S.C. - Carl Pettersson heads into the weekend at the PGA Championship tied for the lead alongside two of the all-time greats in the game - Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh.
The former NC State star and five-time PGA TOUR winner shot a 2-over 74 on Friday and is at -4 halfway through the final major of the 2012 campaign.
Pettersson had the luxory of a two-shot lead with four holes to play on Friday, but three-straight bogeys at Nos. 6, 7 and 8 dropped him from his high water mark of -7.
He did have one of the best shots of the day with a chip in at No. 1 from the sand.
Woods three-putted 18 to fall into the three-way tie. Ian Poulter also bogeyd the last hole to drop into fourth alone at 3-under.
Tim Clark played inside the top-10 just about all day, but a double bogey at the par-5 16th saw him finish tied for 11th at even-par 144.
His best shot of the day came on his approach with a hybrid club at No. 9 that led to a birdie.
Pinehurst club professional Kelly Mitchum competed in his fourth PGA Championship and finished tied for 125th at 13-over 157.
