NC State golfers Albin Choi and Augusta James have both been selected to represent Canada at the 2012 World Amateur Team Championships in Antaylay, Turkey.

Golf Canada selected a team of three that includes Choi for the men's team that will take part in the prestigious international competition Oct. 4-7.

James is also among a trio of Canada's top players and her event is scheduled for Sept. 27-30.

Choi was also on the 2010 Canadian team that finished eighth among a field of 69 countries in Argentina. He is the fifth player in program history to compete in the WATC.

The Toronto native has had a sparkling last couple months of competition dating back to his win at the 2012 NCAA Ann Arbor Regional in May that qualified him as an individual at the NCAA Championship.

He has since gone on to make the cut and was the low amateur at the 2012 RBC Canadian Open on the PGA TOUR, won the Ontario Amateur championship, and made it to the Round of 16 of match play at the U.S. Amateur last month.

James, the 2012 ACC Freshman of the Year, posted five top 10 finishes a last season, including sharing top medalist honors with teammate Brittany Marchand at the Sir Pizza Cards Challenge.

James helped the Wolfpack to its best season in program history. NC State posted 10 top-10 finishes including wins at the Cardinal Cup, the Sir Pizza Cards Challenge and the Pinehurst Challenge. The Pack concluded the year with its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Championship, finishing 13th. NC State advanced to the championship with a seventh-place showing at the NCAA Regional.

The Wolfpack, which received its first-ever ranking in the Golf World/National Golf Coaches Division I Women's Golf Coaches' Preseason Poll at No. 25, opens its fall season on Sept. 9 at the Cougar Challenge in Hanahan, S.C.

The men's team begins fall play at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate Sept. 15-16 at Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C.
