Former NC State and NCAA men's golf national champion Matt Hill earned Canadian Tour Rookie of the Year honors, as well as the top spot on the Order of Merit.
Hill finished first on the Order of Merit with just under $50,000 in earnings. Hill joins the likes of Mike Weir and Graham DeLaet as past winners of the rookie award.
With his Order of Merit victory Hill also grabs an exemption into the second stage of PGA TOUR Qualifying School.
Hill, of Sarnia, Ontario, earned his first Canadian Tour victory at the 2012 Dakota Dunes Casino Open after a four-hole playoff with Will Strickler.
The win came one week after losing in a four-hole playoff to Cory Renfrew at the Syncrude Boreal Open.
He also earned a pair of T8 performances during the seven weeks of tournament play.
Despite not playing in over three months on the eGolf Pro Tour, Hill still sits 24th on the money list with over $30,000 in earnings. He has four top-10's in 10 events, including consecutive tournaments of T3 and 4th, before he headed off to play on the Canadian Tour this summer.
