    Choi T28 with One Round left of First Round PGA Q School Wolfpack alum Hank Kim is tied for fourth; top 18 and ties advance to second round of qualifying

    PENSACOLA, Fla. - NC State junior Albin Choi shot a 1-under 69 on Thursday during the third round of PGA TOUR Q School at Pensacola Country Club.

    Choi is tied for 28th at 5-under 205 with Friday's fourth and final round pending in the first round of Q School. The top 18 qualifyers and ties will advance to the second stage.

    Choi opened with a birdie at No. 1, but bogeys at Nos. 6 and 8 left him at 1-over at the turn. He rallied with three birdies against just one bogey on the back.

    Hank Kim, a Wolfpack alumnus that won the 1995 ACC Championship, is tied for fourth at 11-over 199.

    Choi tees off from No. 1 at 8:40 a.m., on Friday, while Kim begins from No. 1 at 10:10 a.m.

    Choi is expected in the lineup for the Wolfpack this weekend at the Bridgestone Intercollegiate hosted by UNCG at Grandover Resort East Course.
