RALEIGH, N.C. - Three members of the NC State men’s soccer team were named to the 2009 All-ACC Academic team announced by the ACC. Senior Christopher Widman, junior Chris Zuerner, and sophomore Kris Byrd have all been named for the second consecutive year.

Widman earned all-academic honors for the third straight season. He played every minute in goal for the Pack this season, helping lead NC State to a 13-7-2 record and a NCAA Tournament bid. Widman posted career-bests of 0.88 GAA and nine shutouts. He was also named to the ACC All-Tournament team, after helping the Pack reach the ACC finals.
Zuerner and Byrd both made the all-academic squad for the second straight season. Zuerner started all 22 games for the Pack as a central midfielder, and finished the season with four goals and five assists. Byrd started 21 games as an outside midfielder, and was third on the Pack in both points (13) and goals (five).
