The NC State men’s soccer team will start ACC play this weekend, as the Wolfpack travels to No. 1 Maryland Friday night at 7:30 p.m. The Pack (2-1-2) has used a stingy defense in recording three shutouts so far, while the Terps (6-0) are No. 1 in two of the three major polls this week.

The Pack’s defense has been leading the way for NC State this season, leading the ACC in goals against with just two on the season through the first five games. NC State did not surrender a goal for the first 306 minutes on the season.

Maryland is ranked No. 1 by both Soccer America and the NSCAA, and No. 2 on CollegeSoccerNews.com. The Terps have started 6-0 this season, outscoring their opponents 20-5.

After its game at Maryland, NC State will begin a four-game homestand at Dail Soccer Field, starting with Presbyterian on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
