No. 14 NC State soccer hosts Campbell (3-1-1) Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a contest streamed live on GoPack All-Access.
The Wolfpack (6-1) currently enjoy the second-best start in program history, but the Pack is stinging from its first loss of the season after being dropped 3-2 Friday by No. 1 Maryland.
Junior transfer Alex Martinez entered last Friday's match with five goals on the season, good for a share of fifth in the nation. Martinez scored twice against Maryland to pull into a tie for tops in the nation this week.
On the assists leaderboard, Martinez comes in tied for eighth, while Jonathan Ray holds a share of 38th just one shy.
The Camels roll into town having won three of their last four matches. Ricki Gaez and Mitchell Cardenas handle much of the scoring responsibility, accounting for five of the Camels' seven goals on the season. Cardenas also leads the team with three assists.
Campbell won the last meeting 1-0, defeating the Wolfpack in Buies Creek in 2011. The last time the two sides met in Raleigh, NC State came away with a 5-1 win in 2009. State leads the all-time series 23-7-2.
NC State kicks off against Campbell at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dail Soccer Field. Streaming coverage will be provided by GoPack All-Access, fans can follow Twitter updates from @PackMensSoccer, and live stats will be available on GoPack.com.
