    #14 Men's Soccer Surges Past Presbyterian, 4-2
     
     
    RALEIGH, N.C. – Scoring three times in the second half, the 14th-ranked NC State men's soccer team wrapped up a perfect non-conference season, defeating visiting Presbyterian Tuesday night, 4-2. The Wolfpack (12-4-1) celebrated Senior Day with a non-conference triumph over the Blue Hose (2-11-2), and finished its non-conference with a perfect 10-0 slate on the year, the only ACC team without a blemish in non-conference play.

    NC State would jump out to the lead in the 18th minute of play. Junior Chris Zuerner won a ball in midfield and found senior Federico Nachmann on the left wing. Nachmann took a couple of dribbles into the middle of the field, and found sophomore Kris Byrd for his fifth goal of the season at the 17:10 mark.

    Presbyterian would even things up just before the half. The Blue Hoses were awarded a penalty kick after a NC State handball in the box, and Zach Sinkuler converted the kick for the tying goal at the 41:09 mark.

    The Pack would then be rewarded a penalty kick of its own after a Presbyterian handball in the 50th minute. Senior Korede Aiyegbusi stepped up and knocked home his first career goal at the 49:39 mark.

    Presbyterian would once again tie the score just over five minutes later in the 56th minute. Sinkuler would record his second goal of the day, off of an assist from Paul Jackson 55:09 into the contest.

    NC State would find the back of the net twice more to come away with its eighth win in the last 10 games. Junior Lucas Carpenter would put a serve into the box, controlled by senior Ronnie Bouemboue would fed a through ball to Zuerner. Zuerner would score the gamewinner, his fourth on the season, at the 67:55 mark.

    Senior Alan Sanchez would add an insurance goal in the final minute off of a Bouemboue assist, as he put away his team-leading seventh goal of the year at the 89:14 mark.

    The Pack would hold a 13-8 edge in shots for the game, with the Pack’s Christopher Widman making three saves in net.

    NC State will conclude its regular season this weekend, as the Pack wraps up ACC play at No. 7 Virginia this Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
