    Pack Falls to No. 13 Ole Miss in ITA Kick Off Championship NC State suffers first loss of the season against 13th-ranked Ole Miss

    OXFORD, Miss. - The NC State men's tennis team fell in the championship match of the 2013 ITA Kick Off Weekend, 4-0, against the 13th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday at the Gillom Sports Center. 

    The match started in doubles play where the Wolfpack dropped the first two matches and trailed 1-0 heading into singles play. Dave Thomson and Sean Weber fell to Nik Scholtz and Jonas Lutjen, 8-4, while Robbie Mudge and Thomas Weigel lost to Johan Backstrom and Stefan Lindmark, 8-3. 

    In singles play, Austin Powell stumbled against the 33rd-ranked Nik Scholtz, 6-2, 6-3, at the 1 spot in the lineup. Thomson fell to No. 5 Jonas Lutjen, 6-1, 6-2, and Mudge dropped his match against 95th-ranked William Kallberg, 6-3, 6-1. 

    NC State will return to action at home on Friday, Feb. 1, against Northwestern at 4:30 p.m. in the J.W. Isenhour Center.
