No. 20 M. Tennis Drops UNCG, 7-0
No. 20 NC State (3-0) swept the doubles point from UNC Greensboro (0-1) and kept rolling through singles with six straight wins to finish off a triple header with a 7-0 win. The Wolfpack rolled through the Spartans, allowing just 26 games in 12 sets of singles play.
In doubles, Eric Turner and Christian Welte won at No. 1, 8-7 (5) and Jay Weinacker and Rob Lowe cruised to an 8-3 win at No. 2. Frideric Prandecki and Daniel Schinke took out Clark/Befus at No. 3, 8-2, for the sweep.
In singles, Nos. 1-4 ended in quick succession with all four Wolfpack players allowing a combined 16 games. Weinacker took out William John at No. 3, 6-0, 6-3, to win his third singles match of the day.
Cavaday was finished soon after with an impressive 6-2, 6-0 triumph over Ansel Kumdereli No. 2.
James McGee clinched the team match point with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles as he won both of his singles matches during the triple bill.
Welte was the fourth finisher after dispatching of Yarslav Litus at No. 4, 6-1, 6-4.
Schinke took out Andrew Clark, 6-0, 6-1, to make the team score 6-0.
Prandecki played a three-set match to close the day, and rallied from a set down to win, 6-7(7), 6-2, 1-0 (10-7).
Jay Weinacker went 5-1 on the day (2-1 in doubles and 3-0 in singles) to lead the charge, and Lowe won all five of his matches on the day (three doubles, two singles). Christian Welte also went 5-0 (three singles and two doubles) over the triple header.
