No. 34 Men's Tennis Hosts Middle Tennessee in Mid-Week Tilt

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's tennis team, ranked 34th in the latest ITA tennis poll, will host No. 43 Middle Tennessee State in its first mid-week match of the season at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Dail Outdoor Tennis Stadium (weather permitting).
The Wolfpack enters the contest with a 5-4 record on the season, while the Blue Raiders are 6-3. State came up short in its last outing against No. 30 VCU, 5-2, as did the Blue Raiders, dropping a 4-3 decision to No. 33 Northwestern.
Freshman Thomas Weigel and sophomore Beck Bond will look to remain undefeated on the season in dual singles play. Weigel boasts a 7-0 mark this spring, while Bond is 5-0 since moving into the lineup at the No. 6 spot.
The 41st-ranked doubles pair of Dave Thomson and Sean Weber will try for their 12th win on the year and sixth in dual matches when they take the court on Tuesday. Thomson and Weber went undefeated in last weekend's contests, winning 8-3 on Friday at William & Mary and 8-4 on Saturday at VCU.
Middle Tennessee won the only meeting between the two schools on Feb. 16, 2002, a 6-1 decision in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
The Blue Raiders are led by junior Ben Davis, ranked No. 98 in the latest singles rankings according to ITA tennis.
