Pack Set to Kick Off Four-Match Homestand this Weekend

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State men’s tennis team will kick off a four-match homestand this weekend, as the squad will host No. 22 Clemson and No. 74 Georgia Tech. The match against the Tigers will get underway at noon on Saturday, while the Pack and Yellow Jackets will square off at noon on Sunday.
Last time out, the Pack dropped a hard-fought 4-3 decision at Miami. State captured the doubles point for the 13th time this season, while Austin Powell and Simon Norenius each captured straight-set singles victories.
Clemson comes to Raleigh with a 20-8 overall record after defeating Boston College, 7-0, in its most recent match. The Tigers are led in singles by No. 82 Hunter Harrington, while the tandem of Harrington and Dominique Maden comprise the No. 25 doubles team. Last season, the Wolfpack captured a 4-2 victory in Clemson, S.C.
The Yellow Jackets enter the weekend with a 7-7 record this season, including a 1-3 mark in ACC competition. Georgia Tech dropped its most recent contest against Notre Dame, 6-1. The Yellow Jackets boast one ranked doubles tandem with the 23rd ranked pair of Carlos Benito and Eduardo Segura. Last season, State captured a 4-3 victory in Atlanta.
Both matches this weekend are part of alumni weekend. Free pizza will be available to fans in attendance during Saturday’s match against the Tigers, while the contest is also a Student Wolfpack Club Bonus Minute Event. In addition, free T-shirts will be available to alumni both days.
Fans attending the matches throughout the weekend are urged to park in the West Deck, which can be accessed off of Varsity Drive.
